Miranda Merklein was born in Asheville, North Carolina and grew up in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where she works as a freelance writer and teacher. She has a PhD in English from University of Southern Mississippi, an MA in liberal arts from St. John's College in Santa Fe, and a BA in political science from College of Santa Fe. Merklein's work has appeared in Oxford American, Natural Bridge, Word Riot, MiPoesias, Spoon River Poetry Review, and others.

Zachary Kluckman lives in a state of animated suspension in Albuquerque, NM, where he serves as Executive Director of the world's only Slam Poet Laureate Program. Recently his anthology, Earthships: A New Mecca Poetry Collection, was a finalist in the NM Book Awards. An actor with numerous film and TV roles to his credit, he is also a teacher, highly respected spoken word artist, and youth advocate who facilitates writing workshops around the nation. Recent publications include The New York Quarterly, Exact Change Only, and Dos Passos Review, as well as international print and audio publications. He is the Festival Coordinator for the Verse~Converse Poetry Festival, as well as founder of several youth projects building community and safe alternatives for youth within the legal system. Zachary is a nominee for both Best of the Net 2009 and the Pushcart Prize in Poetry. He is the Spoken Word Editor for the Pedestal Magazine and has spoken word tracks on over 500 radio stations worldwide. His current projects include a novel, a collection of poetry titled The Bone-Fly Files, and a rhythm and blues based collection of spoken word recordings.
Nathan Pensky is a graduate of the Creative Writing MFA program at Mills College. His work has been published in McSweeney's Internet Tendency, MONKEYBICYCLE, Johnny America, and many others. In addition to editing for Journal of Truth and Consequence, he is an Associate Editor for the online literary journal JMWW, a humor contributor for The Nervous Breakdown, and a frequent contributor and blogger for the pop culture website, PopMatters.
