Miranda Merklein was born in Asheville, North Carolina and grew up in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She plans to publish Journal of Truth and Consequence until the end of time. Merklein's work has appeared or is forthcoming in Spoon River Poetry Review, Oxford American, Natural Bridge, Iron Horse Literary Review, Permafrost, and others. She is currently a PhD candidate in creative writing at the University of Southern Mississippi where she teaches World Literature and English Composition.
