Miranda Merklein was born in Asheville, North Carolina and grew up in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She plans to publish Journal of Truth and Consequence until the end of time.

She is currently pursuing a PhD in creative writing at the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg. She holds an MA in liberal arts from St. John's College and a BA in political science from College of Santa Fe.
